Working with Ellen and Johan the passed year has been such a dream. They are such an extraordinary couple, always open to new things, food, travel and building their lives together in Houston, Texas. I enjoyed photographing their engagement session, and I knew this would be a beautiful wedding. Ellen and her bridesmaids got ready at The Menger Hotel. It was a relaxed morning made all the better by the mother of the bride, Martha who had planned everything so perfectly including making sure there was plenty of delicious food to snack on and keep the energy up.
The couple were married by their home parish priests at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. After their beautiful catholic ceremony they joined their guests at The Witte Museum for a delicious dinner and a fun night of entertainment by Lumen Events. It was a perfect evening before Ellen and Johan escaped for their Italian honeymoon. See a few highlights from their wedding below and leave them some love in the comments.

Crisp autumn winds blew into South Texas just in time for Tess and Mark's wedding at The Marquardt Ranch. As I arrived, the excitement and preparations were underway. The bride and her crew enjoyed mimosas and makeup in the comfortable bridal suite as they watched one of my all-time favorite classics: Steel Magnolias! The boys brought the beer and set up for some lawn games. It was a great start to a long Thanksgiving week, hanging out with their closest friends and family at their wedding in the Texas Hill Country.
I was so honored to be selected to shoot their wedding photography after I had the pleasure to shoot Tess for her maternity portraits, and their precious baby's newborn portraits earlier this year. I am always delighted to watch these families grow through the years. I loved that instead of a bridal party, the couple included all of their friends and asked them to wear the wedding colors of navy, wine, coral and pink. These colors were implemented in fresh florals provided by The Marquardt Ranch in the table decor and cake.

Are you planning your first Thanksgiving in your new home? I will be honest, I have never had the responsibility of planning a large family holiday dinner, because my mother is an expert at it, and I believe in letting people shine in roles they were born to play. But when I do, I will definitely look back on this wedding for some cornucopious inspiration.
John and Mary Ellen had their wedding at the beginning of the fall season at Polly's Chapel outside of Bandera, Texas. It was a small wedding so they had their close friends and family transported by bus to the remote hills of Piper's Creek to this Texas Historical landmark for the ceremony. Mary Ellen's friend played a beautiful song on her guitar to walk her down the aisle. The minister told the story of the history of the chapel, and how it related to this couple building their lives together in faith.
Beautiful florals by HEB Blooms in Boerne, Texas.
After the sunset ceremony, the couple hosted their guests at The Little Gretel Restaurant in Boerne, Texas across on the bank of the Cibolo Creek. This quaint restaurant offered an intimate setting for their wedding dinner. The couple enjoyed wine and great conversation with friends as this perfect evening came to an end. Congratulations to Mary Ellen and John Gebhard!
We spent a glorious Sunday afternoon with Arturo a Angelica at The San Antonio Botanical Gardens, photographing their engagement session. I loved Angelica's classy royal blue dress, and Arturo's casual but classic style. Angelica is well on her way to planning a fabulous wedding next April and we can't wait to photograph it. As we made our way through the garden, the couple changed into a more casual jeans look and engaged in a game of chess. Angelica won, not only the game, but Arturo's heart as well. Congratulations to the happy couple! Leave them some love in the comments below!!!
It is so wonderful when you can really feel the personalities of the couple in the style, feel and ambience of their wedding day. Cy and Alyson chose the Central Texas Bed and Breakfast and wedding venue, Paniolo Ranch as the perfect location for their outdoor ceremony. The bridal suite alone, which overlooks the rolling hills of the cattle-lined ranch is such a fabulous reason to get married there. The couple are major foodies and decided to have their favorite Food Truck cater the wedding dinner as well as a salsa bar for their guests to munch as they danced the night away. I love that the resident cat weaved her way in and out of the rock benches during their ceremony. As Alyson walked down the aisle she exclaimed how happy she was to have her closest friends and family around her during this special moment. Congratulations to Cy and Alyson!
