Christmas Wedding at The Fairmont Hotel | Sacred Heart Chapel Our Lady of the Lake

Ashley and Sam were married on a cold December day at Our Lady of the Lake University chapel. True to form in Texas, the power went out in the morning of their wedding. With all wedding party members staying in the beautiful, newly renovated rooms at The Fairmount Hotel, they frantically scrambled to get dressed by window light. This proved a challenge for the ladies to do hair without electricity and hot tools, but they worked together to make it work, and they all looked so gorgeous. Their day was only filled with joyful friends and family ready to celebrate their marriage. They dreamed of having an epic party to celebrate and dance. This is the story of that beautiful wedding day.

The day began as many do, with makeup and bustling and rushing about to get ready for the big moment. But from the moment Alex and Alexa locked eyes walking down the aisle with her dad, the tension lifted and was replaced with love absolutely as these two joined their lives. Their beautiful songstress Izis Nieves Rosario started the party early on with her beautiful voice and vibrant spirit drawing the guests onto the dance floor to celebrate this joyful day.

I loved everything about this New Year's Eve Wedding at Lost Mission with Audrey and Tyler Stevens. I loved her amazing family and friends who each played a special part in their day and pulled together to make sure all the wedding day tasks were completed despite freezing cold rain, and accidents on the highways out to the venue. I loved that her grandmother was the first one out on the dance floor and pulled Audrey out to claim her first. I loved the amazing sweet story their friend and officiant told about how they met and are absolutely perfect for one another. And I was blown away by their tender words to one another during their ceremony vows. It was everything I love about weddings all wrapped up in the evening to help us put 2020 behind.

Two Brides at Geronimo Oaks

So many heartfelt and gorgeous words were spoken on this wedding day at Geronimo Oaks between Camille and Sigrid and all the family and friends that came together to love and support them. We love when our couples can be open and vulnerable in expressing their love and gratitude on film. It is an honor to capture such amazing moments on film. Camille & Sigrid said I do at the top of a hilltop by their Texas rustic wedding venue in New Braunfels. Before their ceremony they each sent gifts that brought tears and laughter. We so appreciate when our couples open up and are vulnerable to express their story and how they really feel about the commitment they are making to each other. As a blended family they took part in a sand ceremony with their three sons to signify how their 5 lives are now bonded together.

Their toasts were also filled with affirmational word of love and encouragement from their community of friends and family. We love to capture the toasts in the telling of the wedding day story. I am a San Antonio Native and have been through probably every nook and cranny to find the best spots for engagement portraits. Not only do I know some of the best San Antonio Engagement Portrait Locations, but I know what days of the week and time of day to avoid crowds, enjoy your shoot and have the best golden light portraits. As we get closer to your wedding date, here are a few locations to consider for your engagement portrait session with Aria Production.

Proximity to the wedding date:

It is ideal to shoot your engagement at least 6 months prior to the wedding date. Many couples will use these pictures to announce their engagement, send out Save The Date cards to guests especially those traveling from out of town, enhance their wedding website, post to their social media. So you may want to choose a location based on the season

San Antonio Wedding at Westin Riverwalk | Sara + Ali

Sara and Ali were married on December 20th at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. After getting ready in their hotel suites with riverwalk views, we captured their first look with Sara walking down the round staircase to meet her handsome groom. We photographed wedding day portraits on the Riverwalk with twinkling lights and winter colors in the tall trees.

Exquisite white and pale pink blooms enveloped the couple as they sat on a white settee to be admired by their guests. After their ring exchange the beautiful couple danced for the first time, cheered on by those who love them. They then hosted an intimate dinner with friends, family and coworkers in the elegant Hidalgo Ballroom.

My favorite moment was when the concierge rolled the three-tier, white round wedding cake onto the dance floor for all to witness the ceremonial cutting of the cake and toasts. The luxurious downtown hotel is the perfect venue for a romantic wedding reception in San Antonio, Texas. This was truly a romantic and gorgeous wedding, the perfect start to their lifetime together.

One of the best things about being in the wedding industry is getting to know some of the most amazing and talented people who are just the best at creating the perfect day for my beautiful couples. We recently had the opportunity to come together for a Wedding Fashion Show featuring Brides By Elizabeth. This safe, socially distanced bridal and tuxedo fashion show was produced by Weddings and Event Design by Pamela and Lizzette Suarez of From His Garden Florals, Decor and Event Planning. The talented Chris Koval of Future Sounds announced the event. Catering by Celebrations provided yummy food, and the bar was tended by Magnolia Halle. Sweet treats were in abundance from Creations Cakes and Jane Dough Cakes. Our models were all dolled up by Love, Lipstick and Lashes. We had some amazing talent walking the runway, including two gorgeous flower girls.

Dancing in September at The Club at Garden Ridge | Katie + David

Catherine & David met in geometry class during summer before their sophomore year in high school. Little did they know, they had just met their soul mate they would eventually fall in love and forever go through life learning together. Seven years later on New Year's as the clock struck midnight, and the fireworks began to sprinkle over the Hayes Street Bridge, David got down on one knee, reached into his camera bag and pulled out a ring. As always their entire family was there to witness an amazing moment. It was important to them that they be able to witness their wedding.

They had to change their wedding date once, to ensure David's brother would be able to travel to be there for the wedding, and then the COVID pandemic put us all in limbo. As we got closer to the wedding date, Katie worked with her vendor team to ensure we would be able to pull off a safe, beautiful and fun event to bring their families and close friends together for such an important and momentous occasion. Masks, sanitizer, and social distancing practices were all implemented to ensure we would have a safe event.

San Antonio Wedding with Rosa and Victor Garcia

Plans were made, and then they were adjusted, and then they were rescheduled, and adjusted again. In these COVID times, we must be flexible. Rose and Victor had been planning their wedding for eighteen months. However, their wedding day could not have been more perfect, even though the party has been postponed until next year. They celebrated the sacrament of marriage at St. Leo The Great with their close friends and family supporting them with love on July 25, 2020. It was a beautiful, safe and socially distanced Catholic Mass wedding. As Victor was getting ready, he selected a song to play as they exited the church so he would have his first dance with his beautiful bride and all their friends and family around to witness. He knew he had found the perfect song, when he broke down in tears. She was so surprised, and the moment was magical.

After the ceremony we headed downtown to the riverwalk behind the Tobin Center for bridal party photos. We love capturing large bridal parties having fun, and on this day we got some extra dramatic wind for our photos since Hurricane Hanna was just blowing through the area. By special request we also got some epic portraits of Rose and Victor in the theater district. I love a good dramatic bride and groom portrait, and these two lovely people were such a pleasure to capture!

Candi and Jessica were married on SuperBowl Sunday at Granberry Hills in San Antonio, Texas. Their wedding was absolutely perfect for them, with all their supportive family and friends showing so much love. The couple met at an ACTS Retreat five years ago, and in many ways they felt God had brought them together to walk through life showing love to each other and to all those around them. This wedding was even more fun, because the couple competed in and won the very first Battle of the Rings grand prize of catering by Heavenly Gourmet. We of course filmed and photographed that event, and it was a great way to meet this amazing couple for the first time and get to know their personalities. La Villita Engagement Session with Vickie and Michael

Planning a wedding during a pandemic can definitely be stressful. But Vickie and Michael are taking it in stride and staying hopeful as they plan to say I Do later this year in San Antonio, Texas. They have chosen one of the most beautiful and historic hotels along the San Antonio Riverwalk as the backdrop for their wedding, The Hilton Palacio Del rio. We took a stroll on a Friday evening to create some engagement portraits they will cherish in the years to come. This time of year is normally a little difficult to photograph in a public town square, as people are usually out enjoying their beautiful city. But it was nice to take advantage of the open spaces as most people are staying home. We walked around some of their favorite little romantic nooks of La Villita Historic Arts Village.

Romantic Wedding at The Veranda with Deanna and Brian

Deanna and Brian chose the romantic Veranda nestled in the heart of northwest San Antonio for their September wedding. Their close family and friends witnessed the couple offer their vows on a sunny and warm Texas day under the winding oak trees. They incorporated a sand ceremony to symbolize the joining of their lives together.

After family portraits in front of the picturesque entry, the couple joined their guests and wowed them with a choreographed first dance. COVID-19 Update: How we're weathering the storm, staying safe and keeping our clients safe

So, it's been a little while since I've posted a blog. I have been very busy editing the many wedding films recently shot and working on some additional commercial projects. Then, the situation of COVID-19 changed things dramatically causing us to come up with solutions for my clients, my business, helping my friend's businesses and my family.

If we are scheduled to shoot an event for you within the next eight weeks, we have already reached out to you and assisted in making alternate plans. If you are scheduled for later in the year and have not changed your plans, we are still on track. If we recently shot your event, wedding films are in the editing queue. I am working on them, but please be patient because we now do not have access to child care. Read on.

New clients, we are now only scheduling new events and portrait shoots after April 13th. This is subject to change, as the City of San Antonio allows for business to take place. I am currently only available for on-location shoots where I can maintain a 6 foot distance from my subject. So this means I cannot do newborn or toddler shoots at this time. I am doing on-location portraits, headshots and real-estate shoots. If you would like to schedule a shoot, send me an email or fill out the contact forms in my services pages.

On a personal note, the situation changed significantly last week and it also happened to be Spring Break. The plan for spring break was to have the grandparents spend some time with the kids so I could tackle editing projects. But as the situation became more severe, pretty much on Monday I made the decision to not have my kids go anywhere near their grandparents until I can be sure that we will not get them sick. If you have ever been around young kids, you know it's impossible not to share germs with them. Two-year-olds love to get close, grab your face with their hands, rub their face in yours, touch everything. Older kids like my first-grader can be taught to wash their hands, but they still do touch everything, cough and sneeze unexpectedly, talk very close to your face, all sorts of things that right now are a no-no. So I kept them home, because I was concerned that they may have already been exposed at school, or a playground or the grocery store, who knows? Let them play while I work. I get interrupted a lot, this is hard, but it's what has to be done right now. Late nights, early mornings, this is my life right now.

Then, I started hearing about New Jersey getting shut down. This set off alarm bells in my mind. I usually do H-E-B curbside pick up and I have a few household products I subscribe to on Grove that get delivered, but I knew there were a few things I still needed to get us through at least a week. I made my last trip to the grocery store on Wednesday 3/11, because I thought, "If that happens here, we need waffles and milk." If you have a toddler you'll know what I'm talking about. H-E-B was a ghost town, hand sanitizer, disinfectants such as Lysol were gone, I got home and was definitely getting scared. Thursday I had a meeting off-site, it was awkward not to shake hands or touch anything, but I think they understood why. I made it a point to stop by a Target on the way home. Got my 2 packages of Wet-ones, paper towels and stocked up on cold and cough medicine and acetamenophen just in case. If we get sick, I thought, I don't want to be finding out we are out of this stuff. My last H-E-B curbside order today was short of all meat and egg products. Beans and tuna it is!

I had shoots all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday just as it started to hit, the recommendations to limit guest counts went from 200 to 50 to 10, and things spiraled. All-in-all I'm proud of what I'm seeing the local events industry do to help their clients, pull together and still deliver great service in these trying times. I'm proud to see us help and encourage each other. The uncertainty is unnerving, but I am doing the best I can with what I have right now, time. I am working on editing projects and planning for when this thing passes. I miss hanging out with my parents, but I love them too much to go around them right now. I'm trying to keep my sons busy, learning and exploring. I'm praying for all of you. In times of uncertainty I feel that the best we can do is pray and do the right thing. Landa Gardens Engagement PortraitsWe shot Marisa and Kevin's engagement portraits on Valentine's Day at Landa Library and Gardens.

We spent Valentine's Day with the cutest couple, Marisa and Kevin who are engaged to be married this fall! They brought their adorable Daschund, Pretzel for a stroll in the gardens at Landa Library in the Montevista neighborhood of San Antonio. If you love the movie Must Love Dogs, you will love this engagement portrait session. We started with a more elegant look and a pop of red for Marisa which I love. Red is such a romantic and dramatic color for portraits, it photographs beautifully. Marisa brought a few props to add visual interest to her photos, a bouquet of flowers and heart shaped balloons. For February, we were pleasantly surprised to see roses already blooming in the garden. This is one of my favorite locations for an engagement photoshoot. San Antonio Bridal Portrait Locations to Consider

I am updating this blog post, because this is always a huge part of my year, planning bridal portrait photoshoots! I have shot countless locations in and around San Antonio, and this year I have a few new locations I hope my brides will consider. Everyone's situation is different, but keep in mind a few things when deciding where you would like to be photographed.

First think about your wedding style, the style of your dress and envision what type of setting you see yourself. Are you in a ballgown, or a sleek satin gown, or ruffles and boots? What time of year do you plan to shoot, and is it necessary to consider a back up indoor location in case of a wintery rainstorm? I recommend shooting at least a month prior to the wedding day to ensure we have enough to edit and have prints made. Keep that in mind when shopping for the dress! All fittings should be complete 2 months to six weeks prior to the wedding day. Now let's talk about some of my favorite locations to shoot:

Cibolo Nature Center | Everyday Dawn until Dusk | $20 donation

For that rustic, Texas bride feeling with wide open skies, grassy fields, and a river. What more could you want. This is a gorgeous location anytime of year, but the only rain plan is to reschedule. The river is lined with tall maple trees, which means absolutely gorgeous color in the fall.

Southwest School of Art | M-F 9 AM - 4 PM | Free

So, this is one of my favorite places to take brides, not only because it is versatile, architecturally interesting, and a great setting on a good and bad weather day, but also it's free. As long as you make an appointment during their Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM staffed hours, Southwest School of Art supports artists and allows you to come and shoot. If you are not having your wedding at SWSA, they do ask that you come dressed and do not use the dressing rooms or bathroom to put on your dress. I have shot some lovely portraits there. Here are a few examples.

2. Landa Library and Conservancy | Always Open daylight hours | Free

This is another beautiful location, however you will need to obtain a permit from the San Antonio Film Commission 6 weeks in advance of the shoot. (Links below to the process for obtaining a permit.) There is also interesting architecture found on this public space, and I would really like to learn more about the origins of the archways overlooking the gardens.

3. San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden | Always Open daylight hours | $20 Photo Permit

This space has recently undergone some rebuilding and it is such an inspiring location for a bridal portrait. You feel like you're not in San Antonio, but maybe an island somewhere in the Pacific with a majestic waterfall. I definitely prefer to shoot here early in the morning to avoid harsh light and crowds. However, I can make it work any time of day. Go onto their website to obtain a permit for individual portrait sessions.

4. The Dominion Country Club | By appointment only | $250 Photo Permit

So, if you would like privacy, a beautiful location, with green rolling hills a pond and a glorious water feature, this may be your space. I love shooting here because the catering staff takes such great care of you and your guests, they allow you to dress on the property, you have up to 2 hours to shoot, so no rush and there are so many options for creating a unique bridal portrait. I have shot here in the summer and the winter, and it is always a great location.

San Antonio Missions | By Appointment, Permit Required | $172 after hours, $136 during park hours
I love shooting at the Missions, but there are a few things to know. You must apply for a permit through the National Park Service and schedule your shoot in advance. The cost for this permit is generally $172.00 which includes the non-refundable Special Use Permit application fee of $50.00, the $50.00 location fee and $72.00 for NPS staff overtime (2 hours X $36.00/hour) as all permits outside of normal park operating hours (9AM – 5PM) require NPS staff monitoring. I have shot in the middle of the day here, but you never know if a busload of school children will be visiting during that time, plus the light is better in the evening or early morning at Mission San Jose.

Éilan Residences and Shops | Always Open daylight or evening hours | $Free (as of this post)

I love a big dramatic, architectural bridal portrait, and Éilan is just perfect for that. So, in order to shoot inside this gorgeous luxury hotel, you must be a hotel guest or having your wedding at this hotel or pay the hotel fee which I believe was $560 only on certain dates by appointment last time I checked. That is totally fair, but for those of us who are looking for interesting architecture in the backdrop of a portrait, we can certainly do the work in the exterior of the hotel, residences and shops for free and get some really amazing portraits. Again, this is a public space, so not a lot of privacy, but it is so dreamy and mediterranean. My only worry is that at some point they will decide to enforce a fee just to keep all the photographers from overrunning the place on those beautiful spring days.

How to get great family photos for the Christmas Season!

As a momtographer, I know all too well the challenges of getting the family together for a new family photo. I am the proud mom of two boys. Isaac is my creative, sweet, short-attention-span seven year old who can take an adorable photo, but will only give you five minutes. Elijah is my almost-two-year-old, who loves the camera, but will also maybe give you five minutes of listening to directions being remotely interested in smiling for the lens. So, you have to come prepared and you have to work fast, as my photographer friend Larry Pena recently found out when he took our most recent family picture! I'll show you that soon! But here's my helpful tips whether you're coming for a session with me, or setting up something at home in your living room.

1. Make a plan!

This is not something you can just do sporadically sometimes if you want it to be picture perfect. Set a date, time and place and put together a plan of action. Coordinate wardrobe and communicate to all parties involved. Come up with a theme, like a pajama party or white winter set.

2. Set up a fun and festive space!

Decorate a space that coordinates with your outfits or theme. Props can be easily found in your own home or at stores like Home Goods, At Home, Michael's or Hobby Lobby! If you're a photographer like me, invest in backdrops that can be used for multiple types of sessions. Some of my favorites include Intuition Backgrounds by Becky Gregory, Kate Backdrop and Hazy Skies Designs. Add in interactive props such as mugs for hot chocolate, or musical instruments, anything to keep those little ones interested in staying in the photo set.

If you're setting this up at home, clear the clutter and set up a fun space where you guys can all cuddle with cozy blankets and pillows!

3. Take care of everyone's needs!

I don't know many children OR adults interested in cooperating for a photo when they need a nap or a snack, or both! Consider this if scheduling a professional photoshoot. What time of day is your little one in their best moods? I know all too well that 4 PM witching hour with a toddler, that is not a good time for Elijah! But once he's had a nap and a snack he's good to go! Take care of those needs first and they will be putty in your hands ready to smile for their close-up!

4. Make it fun!

Get ready to interact with your kids, relax and have fun. If you've hired a professional, let them take over and just follow their direction. Many times we will talk to your kids, tell them funny jokes or ask them to do silly games just to get those fun and natural smiles out of them. Play along and have fun. Try not to scold children if they don't follow directions or if you think they are acting up. Keep the mood light and remember that your kids are not performers, they're kids. Let's capture who they are at this moment in time for you to treasure for years to come!

5. A little reward goes a long way!

Ice cream, cookies, a trip to the playground, bean and cheese tacos! You know what your kids would look forward to after a few minutes of following directions and smiling for the camera. I also try to let kids know they're doing a good job and thank them for letting me take their photo. A little praise and reward really does go a long way!

Texas Ranch Wedding | Selenne and Jose

The Wedding of Selenne and Jose was filled with so many emotions as they prepared to leave their tightly knit families and form a new family blessed by God. Selenne got dressed at her sister's home surrounded by her sisters and close friends in her bridal party. She was absolutely gorgeous and brought her parents to tears as they realized their little girl was ready to become a wife. Jose got ready at his mother's home and made sure to visit his father's gravesite to pay respects and share a beer with such an important person who would be missed on this day.

The couple married in a packed St. Joseph's Cathedral downtown. Selenne arrived just in time to fluff her lacy cathedral train to walk down the aisle. In addition to the traditional Catholic Celebration of Mass the couple exchanged arras, and received a blessing of their family bible and a lasso ceremony. After presenting flowers to the Blessed Mother, they were pronounced husband and wife and proceeded to a lively celebration at the home of Jose's aunt and uncle.

The reception was a festive celebration with Mariachi's, two bandas including the famous La Fiera de Ojinario, and an open bar and endless food. Fireworks sparkled in the Texas night sky as they took their first dance. The children played and the people danced in a joyful wedding celebration. Rustic bridal portraits at Cibolo Nature Center with Selenne

It is my wish to fulfill the vision of my brides. Selenne was dreaming of a warm and glowy ranch style bridal portrait in a grassy field. We shot at Cibolo Nature Center on an August evening. For a glowy, romantic look, I like to shoot about forty-five minutes before sunset. Selenne brought her sisters and mom along. For locations such as this, I try to bring an assistant along, because though I do shoot natural light, I also like to shape and control the light to paint the exact look I am envisioning in an image. I use tools such as a Profoto B2 as well as speedlites to create the images you see here. Having an assistant allows me to carry more gear, and I can more easily flow through the various poses while adjusting and fine tuning my light.

Above is an example of manipulating the light for a more dramatic bridal portrait to enhance the beauty and draw the eye to Selenne's gorgeous face.

This was how the session started with all natural light and my favorite 70-200 lens at 2.8mm to compress the long tree line behind Selenne.

As the sun sets behind the trees the light wraps around Selenne. We add just one speed light with a mag sphere to soften and illuminate her face. The above portrait is what Selenne chose to frame and have featured at her wedding reception. This is a traditional pose, with the bride camera aware smiling and the full dress shone in the scene. Parents of the bride love this picture, but I also like to photograph the bride in a more natural pose in more of an environmental portrait as you see below.

The Wedding of Andrew and Marissa Barboza was full of so many wonderful moments. When we met Marissa told me about her beautiful grandparents who would be celebrating 79 years of marriage. Their influence was evident in their love story and they set an example for them to build their marriage upon. They were married on a particularly windy spring day at The Club at Garden Ridge, officiated by their pastor. Just after their ceremony started a gush of wind blessed Marissa and took her veil away. No worries, this marriage will withstand anything! Enjoy the film and check out the documentary edits! The best man's speech was definitely one to listen to in full!

There's no doubt she's just getting started and ready to rock her senior year!

Summer Wedding at Las Fuentes Banquet Hall: Angela + Elio De Leon

Angela and Elio are a match made in heaven, just a perfect blend of personalities. I loved working with them for their engagement and bridal portrait sessions. A traditional Catholic Wedding can be a beautiful thing, especially with a reception at Las Fuentes by Emporium Hall. The De La Rosa family chose this beautiful space next to Cordi Marian to ensure Angela's mother would be close to the wedding celebration. If she were still with us today, there is no doubt she would have been dancing, laughing and enjoying the happiness that surrounded Angela and Elio on their summer wedding day in San Antonio. The couple was married at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and then took a drive to Hyatt Hill Country for some wedding day portraits. We then joined their guests for a lively party serenaded by mariachi's, toasts and dancing. Gorgeous pink blooms were the perfect touch for this elegant wedding hall managed by Emporium. Cakes N More created a delicious and elegant white five tier wedding cake adorned with fresh pink blooms from Blume Haus. The grooms cake was even more impressive: A Maker's Mark Barrel replica complete with mini Maker's Mark bottles, the groom's liquor of choice. It was a beautiful wedding! You could sense Spencer's excitement boiling over in his email just a few weeks ago. He had a plan to propose to his girlfriend Taylor, but he knew he also wanted to be sure to hire a photographer to capture that perfect day! He had asked the parents, made sure her brother would be in town to celebrate. He chose the amazing Becker Vineyards to set the scene in the romantic Texas Hill Country. On a warm Sunday afternoon in June they made their way through a private tour at this historic Fredericksburg winery. They saw the barrel room and sampled many different wines. They climbed down into The Library and learned about the history of vineyard and sampled from the "Reserve Wine Library". All the while, Spencer had the ring in his pocket ready to go! As they made their way through the winding green vines, Spencer dropped to one knee and popped the question! It was amazing to catch her reaction. We then took their first engagement photos in all their favorite spaces. This surprise set a precedent for the many years to come! Congratulations to the happy couple!

The first birthday is so important to commemorate with a portrait session. We love to have a fun, messy time with our baby portrait sessions. The first birthday cake smash session includes a custom set with a themed cake provided by Little Muse Cakes. We're celebrating this July Birthday Boy with a Red, White and Blue set design!

Our photo sessions for babies are super flexible to work with the baby's temperament, but include up to an hour photoshoot. We typically allow baby to get used to the space and are ready to shoot when he's ready to play. The set design and cake are all ready to go, plus a clean up crew!

Dreamy bridal portraits at Mission County Park with Josephine

Springtime in Texas is amazing, especially with the abundant rainfall we have had this year! The bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes are singing in the fields and parks all across South Central Texas, making for some gorgeous locations to shoot portraits. Josephine chose one of her favorite walking trails at Mission County Park along the San Antonio River to have her bridal portraits, and it made for the perfect bridal portrait location! Indian paintbrushes are her favorite Texas wildflowers, and the trail featured these blooms. This is a special place for her and her fiance Ken, as they spent a lot of time during their engagement enjoying these recreational areas for walking. Keep in mind that wildflower shoots are just that: wild! So we kept a close eye on the area to make sure to capture her just as the wildflowers were blooming in April. Here are some of her favorites! Josephine is a pre-k teacher, and was such a dream to work with. I can't wait to share some of her wedding day portraits from this past weekend as well! Stay tuned!

Catholic Wedding at Our Lady of The Lake University Chapel

It all started the day Matthew Hernandez decided to take a leap of faith and send a friend request on Facebook to the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, Catherine Rodriguez. Lucky for him, she accepted, and this began a high school romance just before Kat was about to head to college in San Marcos. The two would cross paths once more, leading to a long-distance relationship that would stand the test of time and IH35 traffic.

Ten years later, they celebrated the Sacrament of Marriage on March 2, 2019 at The Sacred Heart Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake University and enjoyed an evening reception at the picturesque Villa at Cielo Vista in the hills overlooking the San Antonio Skyline. It has been an absolute pleasure to photograph them and their friends and family. Enjoy some of my favorite moments from their day.

Winter Wedding at Southwest School of Art

Lisa and Taylor love to watch The Lord of the Rings movies and when they saw Southwest School of Art, they knew it would be perfect for this theme for their February 2019 wedding. They planned the entire event from afar as they were both deployed during their engagement. I had many late night email conversations with Lisa while she was on the other side of the world. It worked out, because I was up in the middle of the night with my newborn. It was a cold and rainy winter day in San Antonio, but Lisa and Taylor opted for a first look in the garden, and I'm so grateful for them braving the weather for some beautiful portraits before their ceremony and even after the wedding dinner. Enjoy!

Kerriann and Nicholas celebrated the sacrament of marriage at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic church in San Antonio, Texas on a gorgeous spring day in May of 2018. After their beautiful ceremony we shot their portraits with the bridal party at The Pearl where the couple spent much of their engagement, since they lived a block from the riverwalk. Sarah and Daniel are the sweetest couple and were so deserving of the perfect fairytale wedding they had surrounded by their family and friends. It was a chilly November day, and a last minute call was made to move the ceremony indoors. House of Blooms and Noah's Event Venue staff made the ceremony space an elegant and romantic setting. After they took their vows, Sarah and Daniel danced the night away with Sarah's brother as DJ. Shortly before calling it a night they treated their guests to a taco bar catered by Heavenly Gourmet. Congratulations to this beautiful couple, and cheers to a lifetime of happiness and joy!
