La Orilla Del Rio Wedding with Katia + Forrest

April 24, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

We had an amazing evening with Katia and Forrest on April 8, 2017 at La Orilla Del Rio Ballroom. Before making their way to their ceremony, we set up a first look.  This was a chance for Katia and Forrest to see each other for the first time on their wedding day and have a moment to take in the beauty of this day.  The couple was staying at The Westin Riverwalk, so we set up the scene outside on the San Antonio Riverwalk, placed them in the most beautiful light and captured as the scene unfolded.  This also gave us an opportunity to take some gorgeous wedding day photos at the right time of day for light, and freed the couple of to enjoy their guests directly after the ceremony.  So, if you are concerned about your wedding day timeline, consider a First Look.

After pictures were complete, we captured them as they made their walk to La Orilla Del Rio Ballroom.  They got married on the terrace of the ballroom overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk. Their very personal vows conjured tears and laughter, and their friends kept them laughing and dancing all night long.  Before the night was over, we stole the couple away for an evening portrait.  They rode away in a Bluebonnet carriage after a sparkling sendoff from their amazing family and friends.  Thank you so much to Hamilton Wedding Finishing for ensuring a beautiful night to remember!  Delicious catering by Heavenly Gourmet.

A San Antonio Wedding at City Hall

March 29, 2017  •  2 Comments

I should have named this blog, "How to Plan a San Antonio Wedding in less than 2 months", but I thought that was a little too long.  However, that's exactly what Laura Elizabeth and TJ decided to do.  It sounded simple enough, but when she called me she was right in the thick of it, and that panic was starting to creep in.  Boy did she pull it off, and it was beautiful!  Such a bright and colorful day for this vibrant couple.  Judge Nelson Wolff officiated on the steps of City Hall at Military Plaza.  This was the scene where these two met and began working together, so only fitting that they would choose this monumental center of San Antonio to take their vows.  Their close friends and family gathered around and waited for the bride to come down the steps.  She was overjoyed with emotion and with the help of her father made her way to her handsome groom.  It was such a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony.  We then took a few portraits before the bride and groom joined their guests at Casa de Powell, otherwise known as TJ's sister's house.  The backyard celebration was full of love, laughter, and cocktails, the perfect ending to a joyful day.  Congratulations and many blessings to TJ and Laura Elizabeth!

Hilton Palacio Del Rio Wedding

March 21, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

This was a wedding to remember for the sweetest couple Kathy and D.C. We met them at this year's Bridal Extravaganza and they have been such a joy to work with. They had their hearts set on marrying on the rooftop Garden Terrace at the Hilton Palacio del Rio, but alas the misty weather Saturday morning would just not allow for it. Barbara and her amazing team at the Hilton sprang into action to create an elegant and romantic ballroom ceremony site. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with faith, love and heartfelt words. Their wedding reception overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk was a fun celebration of love and dancing with music and party atmosphere provided by Lumen Events. Kathy found her cherished vintage ruffle  wedding dress at the Salvation Army and Image Ave Clothiers worked on it to get it ready for her big day.  They also made sure D.C. and his groomsmen looked sharp. Wedding cake by Lucy's Cakes. Photography by Aria Productions.

Texas Vineyard Engagement with A.J. and McKenzie

Pedernales Cellars is a special place for A.J. and McKenzie, as they have made so many memories spending time there with people they hold dear. We enjoyed shooting their engagement portraits as they opened a bottle of the Signature Tempranillo and took in the view of the rolling Texas Hill Country on a temperamental spring day.  I've known A.J. his whole life and have always thought of him as a little brother.  His charm and kind nature are a perfect fit for the sweet beauty that is McKenzie.  They met working in the travel industry and they enjoy traveling to tropical destinations and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs!

I can't wait to see these two get married early next year.  Enjoy this sweet vineyard engagement photoshoot!

Engagement at The Hotel Emma: Katia + Forrest

March 15, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

We shot Katia and Forrest on a cloudy day at The Pearl in San Antonio and really focused on creating the feeling of an actual date with this young couple out on the town. Katia and Forrest met at work, and soon found themselves wanting to spend extra hours together.  Their first date, Forrest admits he didn't make too much of an effort.  They went to see a war movie at The Palladium, which is not the most romantic way to get to know each other better.  Katia also gave Forrest a hard time for showing up in flip-flops!  These two were destined to learn each other's love language.  By the time Forrest was ready to propose, he knew the perfect setting and date to make his move.  He made reservations at Piatti's and set the scene under an iron gazebo at Eîlan.  You can see that spark between this beautiful young couple as they enjoy the culinary scene at Supper and then have a cocktail at The Hotel Emma. Those romantic first dates are what keeps a marriage blooming.  May they have a lifetime of romantic dates after their wedding day in April!
